Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins is in the concussion protocol after last Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots.[1] Higgins was carted off the field with only four minutes left in the game.[2] Higgins attempted to catch a ball down the right sideline, but hit the turf.[3] He was rolled onto his back, slowly stood up, and went to the medical cart.[4]
Higgins finished with five catches for 31 yards.[5] All Pro-receiver Ja’Marr Chase was suspended for the game due to spitting on Jalen Ramsey.[6] See https://ublawsportsforum.com/2025/11/20/chase-suspension-highlights-nfls-growing-crackdown-on-player-misconduct/. In addition, quarterback Joe Burrow has been out since week two.[7] Higgins was the top choice for quarterback Joe Flacco, but some plays did not go as planned against the Patriots.[8]
Receiver Mitch Tinsley stated, “’I feel like we did a good job fighting and trying to take advantage of our opportunities out there. Some guys went down, and some guys stepped up. And I think we just tried to fight to the end.’”[9]
On Monday, head coach Zac Taylor announced that Tee Higgins and Trey Hendrickson will be out for the Thanksgiving game against the Baltimore Ravens.[10] However, Taylor anticipates Burrow returning to play, but there are no guarantees.[11] Taylor stated, “’[We] just have to find a way to win so we can remember what that feels like.’”[12]
This NFL season, there have been numerous players suffering from concussions. For instance, Jaxson Dart recently suffered a concussion during the Chicago Bears game. While this is a common injury in football, multiple concussions can present serious health issues.
I hope Tee Higgins recovers quickly from his concussion. The Bengals are currently 3-8, but with Burrow potentially returning, they have a chance to make the playoffs.[13] On Thursday, they will play the Ravens at the M&T Bank Stadium.[14]
